The story
The Great Inhale portrays a vacuum cleaner as a breathing predator at 132 BPM in G minor, an unstoppable motor built from a distorted turbine-whine bassline locked tightly to a pounding kick. Everything in the mix is sidechained hard enough that each mechanical inhale audibly sucks the whole arrangement inward before releasing it again a beat later.
The motor whine runs through a talkbox and becomes a wordless growling voice, hungry and almost singing despite its purely mechanical origin. The first peak brings a gnarly synth riff, metallic hose percussion, and a roaring overall groove together, the predator at its most active and aggressive across the entire early section of the track before it settles.
An extended stripped mid-section follows where the machine seems to have swallowed the arrangement whole, only the bare breathing suction pulse remaining, vast and genuinely empty. The talkbox voice reawakens from that emptiness, now melodic and strangely tender, a second theme in B-flat carrying the piece toward its unsettling, oddly gentle close.
