The story

Contrabassoon breathes into that space next, a slow growl more felt than heard, and the fretless bass slides in on top with its wet, singing mwah, bending pitches like it's tuning itself to the room.
Koto plucks arrive scattered and unhurried, single notes that decay into the reverb long enough to overlap with the next. Felt piano answers in soft clusters, muted hammers giving every chord rounded edges. Nothing here has a hard attack. Toms are hand-played and low in the mix, keeping a ceremonial pulse rather than a beat, brushing past at 95 BPM like a slow procession.
Around the midpoint the pads widen, a glossy drone thickening under the koto line, filters sweeping open by degrees so the change is felt before it's noticed. Low brass pulses push through in short breaths, adding weight without urgency. The stereo field opens wider here, giving the fretless bass room to slide further before it settles.
