Rusted Beacon builds its melody around a phrygian-dominant motif that climbs in thirds on an analog brass-lead, the kind of tone that sounds broadcast from somewhere further away than the mix itself. Cascading sequencer arpeggios and string-machine pads fill in around it at 104 BPM in Eb minor, while gated toms and radiophonic FX sweeps add a worn, tape-era texture without slowing the track down.
Erhu and morin khuur trade a melancholic counter-melody underneath the brass, giving the arrangement a specific, non-Western ache that keeps it from settling into generic synthwave.
