The story

The track opens low, almost underground: a sub-bass drone sitting between 30 and 60Hz, thick enough to feel in the chest before anything else registers. Warm string-machine pads rise slowly over it, breathing in and out with a gentle side-chain pulse, like something waking up before dawn actually arrives.

Around the two-minute mark a brass-like analog lead enters, tracing a phrygian dominant motif that climbs in cascading arpeggios. It's tentative at first, almost searching, then the electric guitar takes over the same shape and turns it into something bigger — long legato lines trailing off into tape echo, soaring over the four-on-floor pulse beneath.

The drums stay minimal throughout, soft-attack kicks and hats that never crowd the top end, leaving space for the pads to swell and contract. Small radiophonic FX drift through the mix like distant signals — a red beacon pulse, a flicker of static — giving the wide stereo field a sense of altitude, like standing on a ledge above a sleeping city.

By the final third the guitar theme returns fully transformed, doubled and reharmonized against the original drone, resolving the tension built across the first three minutes. It closes not with a bang but a slow fade, the sub-bass lingering after everything else has lifted away.

Made for late-night drives, pre-dawn walks, slow-motion film edits, or just sitting somewhere high with the city lights below.
