The story

Lighthouse Math runs at 96 BPM in B minor, tremolo guitars picking out a repeating figure that gradually thickens into a full shoegaze wall, the classic post-rock trajectory from single clean tone toward dense layered guitar. A warm analog synth bed sits underneath the guitars from early on, filling harmonic space while the drums stay conspicuously absent through the opening sections.

When the drums finally arrive they hit late and hit hard, a deliberate withholding that makes their entrance land with real weight rather than easing in gradually alongside everything else. The tremolo pattern keeps evolving even after the drums join, new counter-figures layering into the guitar wall as the piece works through its full instrumental structure.

One long collapse near the middle strips the arrangement down to a single clean guitar, the tremolo and wall both gone, the most exposed moment in the piece before the rebuild. From there the guitars stack back up into the biggest wall the track reaches, the analog synth bed and drums both returning at full force for the extended close, the lighthouse motif ringing clear above the din.

A post-rock listening session, a lighthouse or coastal film scene, instrumental focus work, or a slow-building live set opener.
