The story
A massive, round 808 sub drives the track from the first bar, half-time reverbed drums landing soft and wide like footsteps in an empty underpass. A detuned saw lead falls before rising in a minor pentatonic shape, the melodic core of the piece, while the low end stays fat and warm underneath, the kind of dominant sub-bass built to be felt in a car more than a pair of earbuds.
Muted trumpet stabs punctuate the groove at odd intervals, joined by a distant alphorn call that drifts in from somewhere off to the side, unexpected but never out of place against the wave production. A mellow Rhodes fills the mid-register with warmth as the arrangement moves through its chapters, the lead trading hands so no single instrument overstays its welcome across the full four minutes.
The back half opens up for a soaring, tape-echoed electric guitar solo that answers the saw lead directly, vinyl warmth and rain stick texture washing underneath like sunset light through wet glass. The track keeps evolving to the end rather than looping, closing on the same subway-rumble pulse it opened with, just quieter.
