The story
Ferrite Sunrise opens with its hook already stated: a distinctive motif plays within the first three seconds, the soaring lead guitar alone in bar one with no atmospheric build-up ahead of it. At roughly 108 BPM in C minor the widescreen retro-epic tone establishes itself immediately, the guitar's tone bright and open like the first light of a dawn drive.
A Juno pad and a round moog bass drop in underneath once the guitar has stated its theme, filling out the harmonic bed without ever crowding the lead. The track moves through four chapters, each one raising the tension of the key center incrementally, the guitar's phrasing growing slightly more urgent as the harmonic ground shifts beneath it section by section.
A new element enters roughly every thirty to forty seconds, keeping the arrangement in constant motion rather than settling into a static loop. In the final chapter the guitar answers itself an octave higher, two versions of the same theme now audible at once, the whole piece modulating upward into its widest, brightest close, the moog bass rounding out the low end beneath it.
