The story

The track opens low, almost below hearing — a sub-bass hum sitting at 30-40Hz that never really leaves. Water drips somewhere in the reverb tail, metallic and slow. A felt piano enters half-muted, notes arriving like they're already fading, and the first minute stays sparse enough that the room noise around the notes matters as much as the notes themselves.

By the second minute the half-time kick locks in, soft-attack and rounded, more felt than heard, while a wobble sub moves underneath in slow arcs — meditative rather than aggressive. Tremolo strings start to shiver behind the piano, thickening the air. A transformer hum drifts through, foundry-reverbed, like standing near industrial machinery that's just been switched off.

The solo violin arrives past the midpoint, emotive and exposed over the sparse drums, pulling the track's emotional weight upward while the sub-bass keeps everything grounded and heavy. Synth stabs with long delay feedback punctuate the space, and sonar pings ping out at odd intervals, giving the sense of something scanning the dark. Steam hiss and valve clangs keep the industrial edge present without ever tipping into noise.

In the final stretch the layers thin back out — violin and piano trade phrases over the dwindling wobble, the hum fades, and the dripping returns as the last audible thing before silence. Nothing resolves cleanly; the dread just quietly recedes, leaving the low end humming a few seconds after everything else has gone.

Late-night drives through empty streets, deep focus work after midnight, dark ambient film scoring sessions, or unwinding alone with the lights off.
